FLAGSTONE COMMUNITY CENTER ASSISTANT

Role: To provide assistance to the Community Development Officer in the operational
running of the Flagstone Community Centre. This includes hospitality, cleaning, setting up for activities and groups, facilitation of some groups, taking Centre bookings, and
generally caring for people in the Flagstone Community (and beyond).
Diploma of Community Services or similar (minimum).
Experience and skills:
Service: personable with a commitment to building strong relationships within the Flagstone Community and beyond.
Responsibility: demonstrated attention to detail, timeliness and focussed on outcomes. Willingness to do a variety of tasks well.
Respect: demonstrated ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing with others and manage competing views.
Integrity: demonstrated ability to act with impartiality and honesty.
Commitment: to working within the purpose and values of the Uniting Church in Australia and adhering to the policies, organisational requirements and processes associated with it.
This position is part-time (22 hours a week, 8:00– 12:30 Monday-Friday, with room for flexibility by negotiation as needed). Initial contract for 12 months, extension depending on finances and operational needs. A 2-month probationary period applies. This Centre has a COVID safe plan that must be adhered to at all times.

FLAGSTONE COMMUNITY CHAPLAIN

This is an exciting new Pastor position in a greenfield community to help expand the Uniting Church presence in Flagstone and wider districts. We are seeking an innovative and imaginative Pastor with the capacity to care for others, enabling all to live out God’s purposes, and always pointing people to Jesus.
The successful applicant will have a capacity to work with a wide variety of people and across different contexts, support the work of the Flagstone Community Centre, its patrons, visitors and groups, and the CDO through prayer and pastoral/ spiritual care.
While we have a very active Community Centre as our first point of reference, our goal is to initially develop a faith community and then other expression of church with the help of the Pastor and Community Centre team.
This is a .5 placement.
The Flagstone Community Chaplain will be based at the Flagstone Community Centre and will also reach out to the wider Flagstone community.

Driver’s license (essential)
A minimum Certificate level qualifications in a relevant field, with a preference for studies in theology, mission and/or pastoral care
